DURHAM, N.C. -

A woman was arrested after she was caught with illegal drugs in her purse while visiting the Durham County Jail.

The Durham County Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook page that Betty Copley, 30, attempted to pass security in the lobby of the jail with drugs in her purse. The drugs were found when Copley passed her bag through the X-ray machine at the security checkpoint.

Deputies said Copley had a pipe, marijuana, crack cocaine, and clonezapam in her purse.

Copley was promptly arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of a schedule 2 substance, felony possession of a schedule 2 substance, possession of a schedule 6 substance, and possession of a controlled substance in a jail, authorities said.

She is being held in the Durham County Jail under a $2,500 bond.
