A popular Augusta park remains off limits due to last month's floods.
The New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam Park has been closed since the second week of July after it was flooded by the Savannah River.
We went inside to see the damage first hand.
Crews just started cleanup this week, and the first priority taking care of the 8 trees that were toppled by flood waters.
Joey Bishop owns a store outside the front gates, and understands why the park is still closed...because it's not safe.
"It's not, they're working on it daily and getting it back and they say it will be better than ever...hope everybody comes out and enjoys it when they do open it," says Bishop.
Butm having the park closed for a month has hurt Bishop's business. "Yes sir, it has," he said.
Parks officials estimate there was nearly $10,000 in damage to the park. The hope is to have it open before August 16th.
