The Debate turns personal as Augusta's city attorney comes under fire.
Law Department General Counsel Andrew Mackenzie faced another vote of no confidence tonight brought by commissioner Marion Williams.
Among the charges from Williams is that he was lied to by Mackenzie, Mackenzie angrily responded to the allegation.
If I have said something, that you think is a lie I would appreciate if you would come to my office talk to me about that understand all the relevant facts before you call me a liar in public I would appreciate at least that much respect before you come and publicly slander me in that way to at least give me the respect of understanding what the facts are," said Mackenzie on the commission floor.
Commissioner Wayne Guilfoyle said he was embarrassed and apologized to Mackenzie.
Were your comments out of line, we asked Williams after the meeting"
"I'm not going to apologize he lied, why am I going to apologize for somebody who lied to the commisison and I got to believe what he tells me the truth he lied now I'm not going to change that," said Williams.
"What am I going to apologize for," said Williams
The vote of no confidence failed with commissioners Williams, Mason and Lockett voting in favor.
