There's a little black spot on the sun today.  NASA  says there is a giant hole in the sun's North Pole.
It's called a coronal hole, you can see it in this video.   They're common...they have little solar material, lower temperatures and appear darker than their surroundings.
The holes help scientists get a better understanding of space weather.

French police are searching for an armed robber who made off with millions of dollars in jewels from an exhibition in Cannes.
And it happened in broad daylight.
But it's not the first occurrence. It's the second time in less than three months that the Carlton Hotel has been targeted.
Police say the gunman made off with 53-million dollars worth of jewels.

The Pope's trip to Brazil is over, but it didn't stop him from making headlines.
The Pontiff, on the flight back to Rome, spoke to reporters, telling them that it's not a crime to be gay.
He reportedly said, 'who am I to judge a gay person who follows God?'
The pontiff spoke to reporters for more than an hour and covered other topics, including the role of women in the church and the canonization of Pope John Paul the second.

If you're trying to decide what's for dinner... Here's an idea to celebrate a special day today.
It's national chicken wing day.
The first Buffalo wings were allegedly prepared by the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York.
Another man, named John Young, claims credit for the modern wing sauce.
According to the National Chicken Council, four out of five Americans eat wings -- 57% prefer them with ranch, 43% barbecue sauce, 38% hot sauce and 35% blue cheese.
