The 6th annual Larry Bray Memorial Golf tournament teed off Monday at West Lake Country Club. This tournament honors former Westside High School graduate Larry Bray, who died in a car accident in Two-Thousand-Eight.
Before his death, Larry was very passionate about Diabetes research. His niece, Maggie, has Type One diabetes. Proceeds from the event benefit University Health Care System's Diabetes Services and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
"We feel like we're helping from a research standpoint, hopefully find a cure, and we're also helping to serve local patients who need services, so it's very important," said Larry's father, Don Bray. "In the five years we've had the tournament, we've raised about 114-thousand dollars."
On Sunday night at West Lake Country Club, Good Morning Augusta Anchor Chris Kane emceed a special event for the Larry Bray Foundation. If you'd like to make a donation to the foundation, just find the link on our website: wjbf.com.
