Virginia Man Arrested In Augusta For Criminal Attempt Aggravated Child Molestation

WJBF News Channel 6 has learned that a Virginia man has been arrested after traveling to Augusta to meet a "14-year-old girl".

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested 36-year-old John Tysarczyk, Jr. on Thursday after he traveled from Virginia to Augusta to meet and have sex with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. The arrest comes after a four week investigation involving undercover "chatting" with Tysarczyk.

Tysarczyk resides in Newport News, Virginia. He is currently being held in the Richmond County Jail.

The GBI was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Augusta Office, Richmond County Sheriff's Office, and Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
