UNION COUNTY, SC - The Union County couple accused of killing two people may face more charges.

The sheriff of Union County is meeting with prosecutors Thursday to discuss those additional counts for Christine and Jeremy Moody.

The husband and wife faced a magistrate judge Wednesday night.

Sheriff David Taylor says they shot and stabbed Charles and Gretchen Parker in their home near Jonesville. Their bodies were found earlier this week.

Deputies say Moody admitted to targeting Parker because he was a registered sex offender.

The sheriff says his office has looked into Jeremy Moody before, and says he even admitted to being part of a white supremacist group.

"We live in a good community," Sheriff Taylor explained. "Even a bushel of apples is going to have a bad apple every once in a while. That doesn't make the rest of the apples bad."

Taylor is also working with other agencies to determine if Moody is linked to any more crimes.

A judge set the Moody's next court hearing for early October. They will remain in jail for now.

Couple Charged In Union Co. Murder Case - July 24, 2013

Two arrests have been made in a Union County murder case.

Investigators in Union County say one of the suspects says he killed the male victim because he was a sex offender, and that he planned to kill another Wednesday.

Sheriff David Taylor announced at a news conference that Jeremy and Christine Moody, ages 30 and 36, have both been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Charles and Gretchen Parker, ages 59 and 51.

The Parkers were found dead at their home on Furman Fendley Highway Monday with gunshot and stab wounds.

The suspects were caught on camera, according to Taylor and later taken into custody. Taylor says Jeremy Moody admitted to killing Charles Parker because he was a registered sex offender. He told investigators that he planned to commit the crime last year, but got cold feet.

Both suspects were in court for a bond hearing Wednesday. No bond was set for the couple. An initial hearing has been scheduled for October 18. They remain behind bars.

Sheriff: Possible Threat To Public After Union Co. Couple Found - July 23, 2013

The Union County Sheriff's Office is investigating after two bodies were found at a home near Jonesville.

Union County Sheriff David Taylor says that the bodies of a husband and wife were found inside a home off of Furman Fendley Highway just before 9 Monday night. Taylor adds that there's the possibility there's a threat to the public.

"Things like this don't happen often in Union County," Taylor explained at a news conference Tuesday afternoon. "If we find dead bodies and we don't know how it happened, then it's a threat to the community." Watch the entire news conference here.

According to Taylor, a neighbor walked by the home a couple of times during the day and noticed the front door was open. Out of concern, the neighbor called 911.

Deputies tried to get to the bodies, but were unable to because of a large number of overprotective dogs. Animal Control officers were dispatched to the scene to help assist deputies.

The couple was later identified as Charles and Gretchen Parker, ages 59 and 51.

Sheriff Taylor announced that both victims died of gunshot and stab wounds at the news conference. Authorities believe they may have died sometime Sunday, but the case remains under investigation.

The pair was found on couches inside the home. Officials say there doesn't appear to be a struggle.

The deaths are being classified as suspicious and the State Law Enforcement Division has been called to assist with the investigation.
