NC State official set to be honored at White House

WASHINGTON -

The director of an institute based at North Carolina State University is being honored for her work on the state's future.

A statement from The White House says Anita Brown-Graham is scheduled to be honored Wednesday as part of a "Champion of Change" ceremony.

Brown-Graham is director of the Institute for Emerging Issues, a think & do tank focused on tackling issues that affect North Carolina's future growth and prosperity. She worked previous as faculty at the School of Government at UNC Chapel Hill, training communities in strategic planning to revitalize their distressed rural communities.

The White House "Champions of Change" program was created as part of President Obama's Winning the Future Initiative. Through this program, the White House highlights individuals, businesses, and organizations whose stories and accomplishments positively impact communities.
