Aiken County, SC -

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton tells WJBF News Channel 6 a Warrenville man was killed in a single vehicle crash in Langley Monday morning.

Carlton says Wayne Ford, 55, of Warrenville was traveling around 7:04 a.m. in a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup truck east on Piney Heights Road when he lost control of the truck. Ford reportedly entered a curve near Cato Road, left the roadway, over corrected the vehicle, came across the westbound lane and struck an embankment.

Carlton says Ford was ejected from the truck as he was not wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple body trauma.

Carlton says Ford was traveling at a speed higher than the posted 45 MPH. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash along with the Aiken County Coroner's Office. Toxicology is pending.

This is the 19th traffic fatality in Aiken County in 2013.
