One of the victims in Saturday morning's Aiken County hit-and-run accident is dead.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says 48-year old Robert Brooks died Sunday afternoon from injuries sustained when he and a passenger were hit on his moped.

Investigators say 39-year old Sandra Huntington ran into the back of the moped on Pine Log Road.

They say Brooks was driving a woman who had run out of gas to the gas station.

No word on if Huntington's charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident will be upgraded.

Investigators in Aiken County are looking for an early morning hit and run driver.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the case.

Police are looking for a Kia sportage – the model is between 2010 to 2013, but they're not sure of the color of the car

Investigators say it happened around 12:30 this morning on Pine Log Road near Storm Branch road.

Police say someone hit a red moped -- 2 people are still recovering in the hospital this morning with serious injuries.

Police have identified the victims as Robert Brooks from Beech Island, and his passenger Kathrine Bently from Windsor.
