***UPDATED at 11:25 A.M. on Friday, July 19th***

We have confirmed that the 19-year-old murder victim, Marquez Eubanks, was a former high school football stand out at Lucy C. Laney High School.

Eubanks wore number 76, playing as an offensive lineman for the Laney Wildcats. As the news spread about his death, friends began paying tribute to him on his Facebook page. We caught up with his former coach, Lemuel Lackey, by phone to learn more about how Eubanks will be remembered.

"Great kid, quality kid, stellar athlete. Just one that any coach would just love and cherish and want to be a part of loving his life. And, I'm proud to say that I coached him and he feels like a son to me. I feel like his father, in many respects, because it's more than just football, it's on and off the field with these guys," Lemuel Lackey, head football coach at Lucy C. Laney High School.

Right now, no suspects are in custody. Investigators say they know someone knows something, so they're asking anyone with any information to please call the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. That number is 706-821-1080, and as always, you can remain anonymous.
