Safe Boating Course To Be Held August 3rd

The Savannah River Sail and Power Squadron will be holding a safe boating course on Saturday, August 3rd.

The course will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Department Station #1, which is located at 1 Broad Street.

The cost is $29 per person, which includes course materials.

Attendees will learn safe boating skills from United States Power Squadrons certified instructors.

The Boat And Water Safety Course topics include:

  • Nautical Terms, Required Safety Equipment – Life jackets, Fire Extinguishers
  • Navigation Rules, Navigation Aids, Lights & Sound Signals
  • Federal, State and Local Regulations
  • Nautical Charts, Electronic Navigation
  • Trailering, Fueling, Casting Off, Anchoring
  • Adverse Conditions and Emergencies, Communications Afloat
  • Knots and Lines
