POLK COUNTY, N.C. -

Flood damage to the race course where the Block House Steeplechase is held may reach $100,000.

TR&HC Events events reports the race course in Polk County was hit hard by storms on July 12.

Heavy rain washed out both the North and South culverts where the Block House Creek runs under it.

Officials at the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club are asking members and fans who attend the races each year for help to pay for repairs.

The 68th Block House Steeplechase is scheduled for May 3, 2014.
