Augusta Commissioners go back in time...going to burn the midnight oil.
They voted to change the start of their meetings times, from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Commissioners changed the meeting time to 5:00 p.m. three years ago after Matt Aitken was elected. Now, city leaders will go back to the earlier time.
"It was changed for a specific Commissioner, at one point, so he could make the meetings and they needed him and they did that. Now, it's going back to what it should have been and what it use to be it...used to be at two o'clock...people can still come down," says Commissioner Marion Williams, who served two terms when the meetings started at 2:00 p.m.
Commissioners also approved rotating the schedule starting times for committee meetings. Since Williams' election last year, committee meetings have been dragging on longer.
