The state of Georgia is teaming up with daycare providers to make sure parents and children get top notch services. It's part of a new rating system.
Governor Nathan Deal hopes to ease the nerves of parents across Georgia.. with the help of the The Quality Rating and Improvement System.
Here's how it works:
Day care providers *volunteer* to have their center rated with one, two or three stars. Then, parents can go online to decal.ga.gov. There they'll find a datebase with all of the counties in Georgia and a list of the centers participating, like The Building Blocks Child Care Center in Lowndes County..which received three stars.
He's also offering incententives to get the others on board!
-Extra money for providers to buy new supplies.
-Rated centers can also receive money for staff bonuses
-as well as an increase in state and federal reimbursements.
