The Richmond County Sheriff's OFfice is looking for two suspects for Theft by Deception.
The suspects, caught on surveillance video, reportedly approached a woman in the Wal-Mart in North Augusta, on Monday May 20th. The suspects reportedly had the victim believe that she was going to receive a large sum of money if she contributed some of her own money with theirs and then prayed over it.
The victim willingly drove both suspects back to Augusta and withdrew money from two banks and went to her house for another $500. She gave the suspects the money and drove them back to North Augusta. The suspects advised her that the large amount of money would be placed in the trunk of her vehicle and she could retrieve it when she returned home. the victim departed Wal-Mart and came back to Augusta and discovered that she had been deceived.
