Quail Ridge Books to make new ownership announcement today

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

Quail Ridge Books & Music will announce its new owners today at 2 p.m.

Last November, store owner Nancy Olson announced the sale of the iconic bookstore, which was founded in 1984.

Since then, Quail Ridge Books & Music has attracted local and national authors. The store has also received numerous awards. In 2001, the store was named Publishers Weekly Bookseller of the Year. That same year, the store also received the Pannell Award for Excellence in Children's Bookselling and the Haslam Award for Excellence in Bookselling.

Olson said when she announced the sale she wanted to hand the reins over to someone like her, an avid reader and book lover.

"The key ingredients are all in place: a loyal customer base, a dedicated, hard-working staff and a stellar reputation with the publishing community," said Olson in a written release.

The new owners also will inherit the store's 24 full- and part-time staff members.
