The minions have crushed the competition as "Despicable Me 2" topped the box office over the 4th of July holiday weekend. This animated sequel brought in an estimated $142 million, which marked it the biggest 5-day opening for an animated film. "The Lone Ranger" starring Johnny Depp came in at a distant 2nd with $48 million, and "The Heat" starring Sandra Bullock came in 3rd with $25 million.

It was a late night for thousands of Justin Beiber fans as they waited for him to hit the stage.  A concert in Des Moines was set to start at 9:30 PM, but Bieber did not hit the stage until 30 minutes later. It has been reported that the Biebs has been tardy a few times on his current tour reportedly appearing at least 2 hours late for some of those shows.

Another artist known for doing that is Miss Lauryn Hill who reportedly would appear on stage 3 to 4 hours late.

And back here in the CSRA, the big finale has arrived! The close of the 2013 Amateur Series will take place Friday, July 12th at Columbia County's Brand New Exhibition Center which is across from the Gateway Walmart in Grovetown. The live grand finale is going down at 7:30 PM.

The artistic director for the musical "Unbroken" is still looking for male actors. Auditions start at 5 PM at the J.B. White's building in Downtown Augusta.
