UPDATED ON 6: Flooding, Lightning Strikes Reported Across The CSRA

We have received an update on flooding and storm damage from Columbia County EMA director Pam Tucker.

  • Five driveways are washed out in the area of 4390 Shallowford Place in the Sedgefield Subdivision off of Columbia Road
  • There is a sink hole in the roadway at 221 Biltmore Drive in the Westmont Subdivision
  • Three homes flooded on Biltmore as well
  • The creek running alongside 4569 Rockdale Court is overflowing its banks and creeping up yard; almost in shed
  • Reed Creek Park is flooding and water continues to rise

As rain continues to fall and the Savannah River swells as water is being released from the J. Strom Thurmond Dam, flooding is becoming an issue in parts of the CSRA.

Columbia County Emergency Management Agency director Pam Tucker has sent us reports of flooding in the following areas:

  • Rockdale Road/Colonial Road
  • Plantation Road/Oak Lake Driveive
  • Wrightsboro Road/Gibbs Road south
  • Biltmore Drive/Colonial Road
  • 100 block of South Belair Road
  • Marshall Road/Harden Street
  • Samarya Lane/Columbia Road
  • South Belair Road/Wheeler
  • Morehead Drive/Columbia Road

Tucker also tells us lightning has struck homes located at 216 Biltmore Drive and 1413 Collins Road. Emergency responders are on the scene.
