The Recleim Recycling Plant Brings Jobs to Graniteville

The transformation of the old Hickman mill into a state of the art recycling plant is underway.

Recleim held at groundbreaking ceremony in Graniteville his morning.

The $40 million facility will be the first of its kind in North America, Pioneering closed loop recycling.

The center will be able to recycle a variety of appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dish washers, and electronics.

The 110,000 square foot building will house 3 production lines, and will generate 200 jobs.

Doug Huffer, the General Manager of Recleim South Carolina. says, "You know this area has had so many issues over the years…and to be able to use a historic site here in Graniteville and then hopefully staff this facility with the people from this area…it's a win win for everybody."

The renovations to the facility are expected to be completed by the summer of 2014 and will also begin excepting applications
