Goldsboro man arrested in murder investigation

GOLDSBORO, N.C. -

Goldsboro police have arrested man in a shooting death reported late Saturday night.

Stevie Denardo Simmons, 41, is charged with murder in the death of Tyree Simmons, 23, of Goldsboro. 

The men were no related. 

Police say they were called to 101 Georgia Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. to investigate a shooting. They found Tyree Simmons dead on the kitchen floor of that home. 

Police later arrested Stevie Simmons after an investigation indicated he'd shot Tyree Simmons after an argument at an address nearby. The victim died after running from 610 Walnut Street to the home on Georgia Avenue.
