The Aiken Department of Public Safety has made an arrest in the theft of some maps from Aiken City Hall.

Katherine Silas, 42, of Pelzer Street in Warrenville, has been arrested in conjunction with the theft of the maps.

Silas was identified by a Crimestoppers tip and subsequently turned herself into authorities Monday morning.

Silas was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center Monday and charged with Simple Larceny.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety needs your help locating a theft suspect.

The suspect is wanted for Simple Larceny for taking several maps of the Dougherty Road corridor study from 214 Park Avenue, which is the Aiken City Hall. This theft occurred on the morning of Wednesday, July 2nd.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372). Callers may remain anonymous, and could be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
