NC Senate to reassess some House bills

RALEIGH, N.C. -

The North Carolina Senate has ended a brief legislative logjam of House bills pulled from floor debate because Senate Republican leaders wanted to light a fire under tax and budget negotiations.
    
Senate Rules Chairman Tom Apodaca on Monday brought back for deliberation more than a dozen bills from the 40 or so he removed last Thursday. He called that move an incentive to get House members to work out agreements with the Senate.
    
Apodaca says his reconsideration isn't a sign budget and tax deals are nearly done but does want to clear the decks when the House returns to Raleigh after taking this week off.
    
More House bills are on the Senate calendar Tuesday. The full Senate decided to keep working through Wednesday
