Fox Tests Positive For Rabies In Richmond County

According to the Richmond County Health Department, a fox has tested positive for rabies.

The fox was found in the Powell Road area. Officials say, all dogs and cats in this area should have an up-to-date vaccination given by a registered veterinarian

Residents are asked to avoid contact with wild animals and report any contact to the Richmond County Health Department by calling 706-667-4234.

Residents are urged to report any contact of pets with wild animals to Richmond County Animal Services at 706-790-6836.
