The Wake County Animal Center is having two of its best days in weeks.

According to Dr. Jennifer Federico, director of the center, the past two days have been "unbelievable."

Federico said the center has taken in 47 animals between Friday and Saturday with only 12 of those being surrenders.

A total of 97 animals have been take out of the center since Friday, Federico said.

Organizations from Virginia, South Carolina and even Pennsylvania picked up a total of 37 animals to help the WCAC Friday.

Other animals taken from the shelter include seven microchipped dogs and 23 adoptions.

The WCAC is calling on the public to consider adopting or fostering one of the more than 800 animals currently under the county's care.
