MYRTLE BEACH, S. C. (AP) - Authorities are asking for help to identify a woman who died after lifeguards pulled her unconscious from the ocean at Myrtle Beach.
Police said the victim is a white woman with reddish-blonde hair in her late 40s to late 50s. She is between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-6 and weighs between 170 pounds and 185 pounds.
Authorities say the woman had a tattoo of an ocean scene on her left ankle with a dolphin on top. The tattoo was colorful, with bright yellows, reds and oranges.
Police say lifeguards pulled the woman on shore on the south side of Myrtle Beach around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. She died a short time later at the hospital.
The coroner's office thinks her death was an accident, but the investigation continues.
