A person of interest is in custody in a triple murder in south Richmond County. The three bodies were discovered Tuesday in a wooded area behind a new subdivision in the area of Ethan Way, which is behind Deer Chase Elementary School. WJBF News Channel 6's Dee Griffin has been tracking the story and she has the latest information.

Augusta Deliverance Evangelistic is a small church with a big heart...a heart that is broken.

"Excellent members, faithful members," says Senior Pastor Roy Myles.

Senior Pastor Myles is trying to come to grips with the fact that three of his members were violently killed. He says Roosevelt and Edna Jones were members of his church for 40 years. Now, the Jones' and their son, Russell, are gone...leaving a hole in the hearts of the tight-knit church family.

"That's what makes this thing so difficult, is you've known the family all your lifetime and then something like this happens," says Kerwyn Myles, of Augusta Deliverance Evangelistic Church.

The father, mother, and son were found burned in a wooded area behind Deer Chase Elementary on Tuesday. What started as a call about a brush fire ended with a homicide investigation.

Hours later..,Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies were on the trail of a killer.

During a Wednesday afternoon news conference, family members joined Sheriff Richard Roundtree as he announced an arrest in the case.

As investigators continue asking questions...family members are turning to a higher power for answers.

"We figured that our congregation is probably be hurting, feeling the pain, so we are going to have a special prayer meeting tonight," says Senior Pastor Myles,

For Senior Pastor Myles, it's one way to gain strength for a church family that has been weaken by this tragic loss. "We just don't understand. But, I'm sure of one thing, they with the Lord. I'm sure of that."

Special prayer will be held at the family's church Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m. Sheriff Roundtree wants neighbors to know that their subdivision is safe and they are not in danger.
