Sarasota man arrested in connection with road rage shooting

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL -

Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man in connection with a road rage shooting confrontation late Tuesday afternoon.

The  sheriff's office reported that shortly after 4:00 p.m. two vehicles were traveling southbound on US 41, near North Port,  when a man pointed a shotgun from one car and fired a shot into the passenger side window of another.

Officials say the shooting took place while the cars were in front of the La Casa Mobile Home Park.  The victims of the shooting, a driver and passenger, were hit with shotgun pellets and were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives question the man who drove the green Geo Tracker involved. The investigation is ongoing.
