***UPDATED at 2:48 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22nd***

WJBF News Channel 6 is learning new information concerning the investigation into the discovery of three bodies...two males and one female...in Hephzibah on Tuesday.

We do know one person of interest is in custody at the Richmond County Law Enforcement Center. We don't the person's name, or the possible connection. We do know, however, the person has been held there overnight.

We'll have many more answers in a few hours after a press conference that's being held by Sheriff Richard Roundtree at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Around 7:15 Tuesday evening, several hours after the 3 bodies were discovered, is when Richmond County Sheriff's Office deputies surrounded a home in the Pinnacle Place neighborhood. That's just a few miles down the road from the discovery location, which was in a wooded area on Mickey Court. Investigators are calling the home a secondary crime scene.

Investigators are being very tightlipped into why the home is considered a second crime scene.

We will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

***UPDATED at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22nd***

Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and is expected to release new information about a triple homicide in Hephzibah.

Also on Wednesday, Deputy Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen confirmed that two of the victims are male, and the third victim is a female. All three bodies were discovered in a wooded area Tuesday by firefighters who had responded to a fire.

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, Richmond County Sheriff's Office investigators responded to an address in the Pinnacle Place Subdivision in regards to a welfare check.

Investigators located evidence that links the residence to the three murder victims that were found Tuesday afternoon in a wooded lot off of Mickey Court.

Investigators have a person of interest in custody. No charges have been filed at this time due to the sensitive amount of evidence that needs to be processed at both crime scenes.

We will continue to follow this investigation and release more information as it becomes available.

***UPDATED at 6:22 P.M. on Tuesday, May 21st***

What started as a typical call regarding a fire quickly turned into a hunt for a killer. After firefighters extinguished the flames, they noticed the three bodies. It turns out, the two men and one woman were burned badly.

The area is secluded and off the beaten path...in a part of a subdivision that's under construction behind Deer Chase Elementary School.

Now, investigators are appealing to viewers to help identify the bodies and solve this case.

"What we are wanting to do is ask the public, if they have any first-hand knowledge of any missing persons, please notify the Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080 or 1020," Says Sergeant Shane McDonald, of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Also, you are urged to call police if you saw anything suspicious in the area near where the bodies were found.
