UPDATED ON 6: More Information Released In Deadly McDuffie County Crash

The Georgia State Patrol has released more information pertaining to a deadly crash in McDuffie County on Monday.

At 11:14 a.m., Monday, a three vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of State Road 17 (Georgia State Highway 17) and the Thomson Bypass. Officials say, a Ford Crown Victoria was traveling west on the Thomson Bypass when it failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection where it was struck by a tractor trailer traveling north on State Road 17. The Ford overturned onto the west shoulder of State Road 17. After striking the Ford, the tractor-trailer jack-knifed and crossed into the southbound lane of State Road 17 where it struck a Chevrolet HHR. The SCRT team is assisting with this investigation.

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center and is in stable condition. The driver of the tractor-trailer complained of an injury.

The driver of the Ford Crown Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the driver has not been releqased, at this time, pending notification of family.

One person is dead after an accident Monday afternoon in McDuffie County.  A spokesperson for Georgia State Patrol also said two people were injured in the accident.

The accident happened near the intersection of Georgia State Highway 17 and Wire Road in McDuffie County.
