Big Changes in an Augusta city department.
Last January six permanent employees in the Human Resources Department were told their jobs were on the line and they would have to reapply for positions
The employees were interview and only three of the six were re-hired, the new director says it was a question of finding the best people for the department.
"These were newly created positions and all the employees were encourage to apply for positions which they qualified for so they competed in the competitive process along with others it's getting the best qualified applicants to do the job, " says Tanika Bryant the Human Resources Director.
Bryant who took over last month says the department is still hiring new employees and will be up to its full staff of 15 by June first.
Last year commissioners debate out sourcing HR to ADP, but decided instead to reorganize the department and keep it in house.
