Pinellas Co. detectives discover 2 juveniles forced to prostitute

Posted: Updated:
ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) -

The rear of the Knight's Inn off 54th Avenue North in Pinellas county is where deputies say they came across two girls, ages 15 and 16, turning tricks for cash. They say Antron Smith, 30, pimped out the girls, and used the nick-name, "the trick master."

Deputies say Smith hired Donell Jenkins, 21, to recruit girls, and say, Stacy Bumgarner, 28, gave them lessons on how to be a prostitute with one main rule: make as much money as you can. "Money is to be placed on the table. She was to use condoms. And that no sex acts were off the table" said Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.

Deputies say the trio worked the low-cost motels up and down 34th Street just north of the St. Petersburg city limits. Places like, the La Quinta, Murphy's, and the Gateway. They say the trio placed ads on "backpage.com" and gave the teens names, like Candy, and Diamond.

"It's horrific. You got a 15-year-old who doesn't have a place to live; her parents don't want her back because they're frustrated with the situation. She's forced to engage in prostitution and is told, if she doesn't follow the rules, she's gonna be beaten," said the Sheriff.

And they say, Smith kept his own kids, 6 and 9 years old, in a nearby room as the teens had sex with strangers for 100 to 350 dollars.

People who live in the area aren't surprised by the arrests. "It's ridiculous. I mean, you see em out here, 12 and 14 years old. You know, prostitutes, it's all the time," said Steven Flachsmann.

He says he sees up to 60 prostitutes working this area early in the morning. "Ten years time I've lived here, drive by shootings, gang bangers, prostitutes," said Flachsmann.

The teens rescued from the trio are now in foster care.
