A tutor with the Early College High School program has been charged with disseminating harmful materials and sexual exploitation of a minor.

Teal Harding, a spokesperson for Horry County schools, said Joseph Floyd of North Myrtle Beach, was a student at  HGTC and served as an academic tutor for high school students who attended the Early college program located on the campus of Horry County Georgetown Technical college.

The police report indicates he sent inappropriate pictures on an electronic device to at least one 16-year-old female student.

The investigation continues.  He was released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center May 4.

Mary Eaddy with HGTC told News13, Floyd has been issued a no trespassing order which means he cannot be on campus until this matter is resolved.
