Richmond County Investigators need your help identifying the people who allegedly beat up a couple late Friday night.

Investigators say a man and woman from Edgefield, South Carolina were sitting on a bench on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta around 11 p.m. when they were approached by two males armed with a pipe or aluminum baseball bat. The suspects allegedly demanded money from the couple and then began hitting both the man and woman with the object. The man and woman were struck in the face and head.

The male victim is currently in critical but stable condition at University Hospital.

Authorities say the two suspects were tall, slender, African American men wearing all black clothing.

Investigators also ask for help locating a 2002 Hyundai Sonata with South Carolina tag number 1909FR.
