New details tonight in the death of a 2-year-old toddler in Columbia County.
We first told you about the crash on Thursday – as breaking news.
Investigators say Sky Allen died in that wreck.
Authorities say 27-year-old Marina Middlebrooks collided her car into a tree, Thursday evening.
The coroner says the child was not restrained in the front seat, when that car crashed.
That accident happened on Ray Owens Road, in Appling, just near North Columbia Elementary School.
Investigators say preliminary autopsy results are in from that car crash, but the complete report could take several more weeks.
Officers say the mother's condition has improved and they hope to interview her before releasing any new information.

A toddler is dead, and the child's mother is seriously injured after a Thursday afternoon crash in Columbia County.
The child is identified as 2-year-old Sky Allen, and the mother is identified as 27-year-old Marina Middlebrooks, of Norton Boulevard, in Augusta. this information comes from Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins.
Captain Steve Morris, of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, tells us Middlebrooks was airlifted from the scene of the accident, which occurred around 4:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon, to Georgia Regents Medical Center.
Captain Morris says, Missdlebrooks was driving a Honda CRV north on Ray Owens Road in front of North Columbia Elementary School. Capt. Morris then says, Middlebrooks drifted into oncoming traffic and then off the road, hitting a tree.
An autopsy on the child is scheduled to be performed Friday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Atlanta.
