Blake Adams Giving Back While Coming Back from Injury

Posted: Updated:

Bishop, GA (WJBF) -- PGA Tour pro and Swainsboro native Blake Adams and some of his professional golfer friends like Aiken's Kevin Kisner were at Lane Creek Golf Club just outside Athens on Monday. Adams and his coach John Tillery have teamed up with Lane Creek to start the Blake Adams Golf Academy. Monday was an open house and meet and greet as the construction is nearly completed. Adams says he's hoping to provide a place where golf instruction doesn't cost a fortune. You can read more about Adams vision on his website.

Adams is working on this project as he also works on returning to the PGA Tour. Adams played in only 2 events this year before undergoing hip surgery in late January. He was on crutches for 8 weeks following the surgery. He says he is on the recovery trail and hopes to make his return to professional golf in October. Adams is coming off a career year in 2012 that included 9 top 25 finishes and a tie for 7th at the PGA Championship.
