UPDATED ON 6: Shots Fired, Suspects Apprehended Following Pursuit In Aiken

Aiken Department of Public Safety investigators have released the charges against the three men arrested late yesterday afternoon, following a pursuit and reports of shots fired in the Pinecrest neighborhood.

Kentrell Brown has been charged with Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Possession of a Stolen Pistol, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, and No Driver's License.

Rodriquez Jackson has been charged with Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Possession of a Stolen Pistol.

Rashawn Carter has been charged with Trafficking Crack Cocaine, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Possession of a Stolen Pistol.  Carter was also served with two outstanding bench warrants for No South Carolina Driver's License and No Vehicle License.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the shots fired in the Pinecrest Neighborhood. Three men have been arrested after shots were fired and a police pursuit in Aiken.

An Aiken Department of Public Safety (ADPS) spokesperson tells WJBF News Channel 6, at approximately 5:11 p.m. Monday, an ADPS officer heard gunfire from the Pinecrest neighborhood, north of Hampton Avenue. The officer then observed a white four door Chevrolet Malibu fleeing the area where the shots were fired in a reckless manner. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspects reportedly failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. Officers pursued the vehicle through adjoining areas to include the Central Business District of Aiken.

The suspects were captured when the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Plunkett Avenue and Laurens Street. Officers recovered several firearms and drugs from the vehicle. Three suspects have been arrested. Weapons and gun charges are pending.

The suspects are 23-year-old Rashawan Vertez Carter, of Augusta; 21-year-old Rodrequiz Kintrell Jackson, of Aiken; and 21-year-old Kentrell Antonio Brown, of Augusta.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is investigating shots fired near Pinecrest Avenue believed to be connected with the vehicle and suspects arrested for fleeing Aiken Public Safety Officers. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Sheriff's Office assisted in the apprehension of the suspects.

All three suspects will be held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
