G-R-U's health equity and access leaders, or HEAL program, presented the Belle-Terrace Health and Wellness Center a check for $550.
First and second year medical students raised the money through a 'penny-war' as part of the program's mission to offer more than just medical help.
First year medical student, Kimberly Stillwachs, believes "the whole purpose of medicine is to help people and to give back to people. There are a lot more ways to do that than just through medication and treatment and healthcare. It's about treating the whole person and the whole community."
The money will go towards helping the center continue medical coverage expansion in Augusta.
