Masters Patrons Head To Wednesday Night Events

Posted: Updated:

After the Annual Par 3 Contest, the Official Par 3 Party began in Downtown Augusta at the Augusta Common. The gates opened up at 6:00PM. Tickets were $10 and VIP passes were $40. The Greater Augusta Arts Council has been putting on the event for 4 years now. Wednesday night, there was plenty of music and dancing, as well as food and drinks. The featured music group was The Fantastic Shakers -- they play beach music. Although this is the 4th year the party has been held downtown, the Par 3 Party has been around for a long time.

"This would be our fourth year. Now, people who live in Augusta probably remember there was always a par three party. It was at National Hills. It kind of went away. We asked the city if they wanted it back and they asked us to bring it back. So, this would be our fourth year but we had a rain out last year so it's kind of our three and half I guess," says Greater Augusta Arts Council Executive Director Brenda Durant.

And in Columbia County... Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giulliani attended a fundraiser event for Thunder Over Augusta. The event took place at the Lady Antebellum Pavilion at Evans Towne Center Park. Giulliani greeted guests and took pictures with them. The fundraiser had food, fine wine tasting, music and even a silent auction. Tickets were $100 and it took place right after the Columbia County Championship Festival ended.

"We had a full park all day long. Lots of kids lots of families. We had some music on the stage. We just had a 15 minute fireworks display and now we are capping off the evening with a private wine tasting with Rudy Giulliani, our special guest. And Recording Artist Michelle Murray," says The Savor Society President & CEO Jim Freudenberg.
