Augusta, GA (WJBF) -- Tommy Amaker's Harvard Crimson pulled off a major upset in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Thursday night. They knocked off 3rd seeded New Mexico for the first NCAA tourney win in program history. That made one big fan in Augusta very happy.
Augusta State University men's basketball coach Dip Metress played high school basketball with Amaker at WT Woodson in Fairfax, Virginia in the early 1980s. Metress says the two have remained friends through the years as they both have gone through the coaching rankings. Metress knows Amaker so well than he knows his real first name is Harold. Dip says he's the only one who calls him Harold.
