Because of "immense pain", Warren County High School's head football coach, David Daniel, is retiring from the gridiron this week.
Daniel was injured in a brawl between the Warren County High School and Hancock Central High School football teams last October.
Carole Jean Carey, the Warren County school superintendent says, "Coach Daniel has been in immense pain since that incident and has retired as of Tuesday."
There has been no interim or replacement coach named, and Carey says it is not clear yet who will coach Warren County in their opening game against Glascock County on August 31st.
