Although Blanche Greene is relatively new to Jefferson County, Georgia, she's made a name for herself as a woman who likes to make things happen.
A crowd of friends turned out to surprise Blanche when we showed up to present the Giving Your Best award for May.
She's active in her church, through collecting clothing and food for those in need. She's also a member of the Arts Guild, giving proceeds from her photography sales to the church food pantry.
But perhaps Blanche's favorite volunteer work is with the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia.
"Me being a Girl Scout, where ever I've lived at, I've always wanted to share that experience.. because it was so wonderful and I remember it like it was last week," Blanche explains.
Blanche Greene is an active Girl Scout leader who volunteers to refurbish the Quinney House, which was give to the scouts... and will host a stop on the Girl Scout's "Traveling Troop" program this summer.
Melinda Carr's daughter is one of Blanche's scouts.
"She just does a lot of things! Whenever my daughter's in something, whether it's recreation sports or whatever, she always tries to attend."
Blanche has two grown kids and a niece and nephew that she raised. She knows how to get things done!
"So she just came in and saw things that needed to be done and jumped in and did it."
Blanche volunteers at the food pantry, runs a church clothes closet, and looks out for those in need.
"My great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother, my aunt- that's what we've always done."
"If somebody needs food or somebody's sick, Blanche is there trying to make sure they have food. If they've been in the hospital, and there's no food in their house, Blanche makes sure they have plenty when they arrive at home."
Blanche also partners with the Golden Harvest Food Bank to bring the Manna Truck to Louisville for 175 families. On this hot day, more like 300 families showed up.
Blanche is a leader in her community, and she believes everyone should give back.
"If you're able to you should, but it's a personal choice. If you can help somebody, for me it's 'pay it forward.' If I'm doing it for these kids somebody's going do it for mine."
