Wednesday, Aiken Public Safety investigators along with SLED announced some new details in the investigation of Ann Fox Smith's murder. The beloved Aiken school teacher was murdered in her home in April 2008.
With no physical evidence to arrest and convict a suspect, investigators have turned to an expert, hoping to keep the case from going cold. An expert criminal profiler with SLED believes the killer was familiar with the home. Lt. Michael Prodan also believes the crime was of a very "personal" nature and shows signs of rage.
Although Smith's husband's lawyer was at the press conference, he was not. Neither was her son. Both have been questioned during the investigation.
Investigators say some of the people they've questioned in this case have been uncooperative, but they declined to say who.
Police are asking anyone with more information to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers can remain anonymous, and can also text a tip to CRIMES.
