Fickle front pushing through the area

Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - Good Wednesday Afternoon! I'm WNCT 9 First Alert Chief Meteorologist Jerry Jackson with your forecast for eastern North Carolina.

THIS AFTERNOON: A front is currently pushing through eastern North Carolina. The movement will be rather fickle over the next few days, creating a tricky temperature forecast. Although a few isolated storms are possible today, a slightly better chance of storms may develop later this week. A more definitive cooling (and drying) trend resumes for the end of the weekend.

TONIGHT:  Partly cloudy skies are expected with a slight chance of storms and lows in the 70's. Winds will be light and variable (higher with any storms that develop.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy skies are expected with a 30% chance of storms and highs in the 90's.

A LOOK AHEAD:  A refreshing change in temperatures is expected this weekend.

TROPICS: The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area of thunderstorms approaching the Windward and Leeward Islands. The disturbance will push through the Caribbean Sea over the next few days. Stay with WNCT 9 First Alert Weather for more tropical information by clicking HERE.
