Kris Allred - WJBF-TV ABC 6 Augusta-Aiken

Kris Allred

Kris Allred is the chief meteorologist for WSAV-TV and WSAV.com. She holds a Master's Degree in meteorology from Mississippi State University and holds the broadcast seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. She also graduated from The University of Alabama with honors and was a Crimsonette in the Million Dollar Band.

Kris was born and raised in Alabama. After more than six years forecasting the weather extremes up north, she realized, "My heart is still in the South."

Now the rest of her is, too. With two young children, Kris knew it was time to "come home" to the South. Savannah offers the perfect place for her to raise her family and serve the community. For Kris, that's what weather forecasting is all about - serving the community, especially when things turn dangerous and as Kris says, "people's lives are on the line."

Kris now leads WSAV's Storm Team 3, all meteorologists with extensive experience and state-of-the-art technology keeping us ahead of the storms, especially during hurricane season.

Additionally, Kris is serving the community as an executive board member for the Oatland Island Wildlife Center and as a member of the Savannah Junior League.

Join Storm Team 3's Chief Meteorologist Kris Allred and see the special energy she brings every day, Monday through Friday, at 6 and 11 p.m. on WSAV-TV NEWS 3 and WSAV.com.
