North Augusta Softball Loses State Playoff Thriller

North Augusta, SC (WJBF) -- The North Augusta softball team has been trying to win for Quinn. They've even had t-shirts made up. Unfortunately, they couldn't get the win against Wando Monday night in the state playoffs, so the Derrick Quinn era is over at North Augusta. Quinn is leaving to be the new football coach and athletic director at Fox Creek High School.

In the loser's bracket of the 4A state softball playoffs, North Augusta rallied from down 5-0 to Wando to tie the game at 5. But Wando scored a 2-out run in the 6th and hung on for a 6-5 win.

Here are some SCHSL baseball playoff scores (all were elimination games):

Sumter 4, South Aiken 3 (Final 8/innings)

McBee 4, Fox Creek 1

East Clarendon 2, Bamberg-Ehrhardt 1 (Final/11 innings)

In boys tennis, South Aiken's match with Socastee was suspended because of rain and will resume on Tuesday at 1:00.
