1 arrested, 3 now wanted after armed robbery at an Augusta grocery store

WJBF Staff - AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - Authorities say there are now 4 people suspected in Tuesday night's robbery of Save-A-Lot on Peach Orchard Road.

The suspect discovered hiding in the store this morning is the 4th suspect.

Investigators have not identified him yet. He's not been taken into custody yet.

Augusta, Ga (WJBF) - NewsChannel 6 has learned that authorities had one suspect cornered, possibly in the attic of the Save-A-Lot store that was robbed last night.

Sometime this morning, employees heard noises coming from the ceiling of the store and called 911.

The store is now re-open for customers.

Investigators are no longer actively searching the store..

Augusta, Ga (WJBF) - One person is in police custody and two more are on the run after an armed robbery in Richmond County.

It happened at the Save-A-Lot grocery store located on Peach Orchard Road just before 8:30 pm Tuesday.

Police say suspects were still in the store when they arrived.

Investigators arrested 18-year-old Jaquan Johnson.

The second suspect, Arthur Murray, is still wanted.

He is considered armed & dangerous.

A third suspect, Benedict Bennett, is also still wanted.

He, too, is considered armed & dangerous.
