ATLANTA (AP) - The big musical from John Mellencamp and Steven King will have to wait.

The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta had planned to premiere "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County" next April in preparation for a run on Broadway.

The Alliance says the project has been delayed because of scheduling problems and issues with the script.

Mellencamp wrote the music and King wrong the book. The story is set in a fictional Mississippi town and centers around the deaths of two brothers and a girl in 1957.

The Alliance says it hopes to produce the show during its 2009-2010 season.
