Tara joined the WJBF News Channel 6 team in November of 2004 as the Weekend Sports Anchor.
Tara loves sports and loves to talk, so she knew from an early age that being a sports reporter was what she wanted to do. Tara was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan and earned her degree in Journalism, along with a minor in Spanish and Caribbean & Latin American Studies from Michigan State University.
While at MSU, Tara was an intern for a handful of television stations and served as a sports reporter for the student newspaper, The State News. Tara won an Associated Press Award for "Story of the Year" and ESPN the Magazine honorable mention for a story she wrote about a 15–year–old boy who used boxing as motivation to better his life.
Tara describes the summer of 2004 as "the best summer of her life" as she worked at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn. as a studio production intern.
Tara loves sports, concerts, movies and cooking. Tara grew up a fan of the Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons and Lions, but she is excited about covering all sports in the CSRA. She knows how important the community is when covering local sports, and she welcomes story ideas from viewers.
