John joined WJBF News Channel 6 in March of 2000 as Assistant Sports Director.
Originally from Snellville (a small suburb of Atlanta), he graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998 with a degree in Telecommunication Arts.
While at the University, John worked as a sports reporter for the student newspaper, The Red and Black, and anchored news and sports for WNGC-FM and WGAU-AM, the flagship station of UGA. John won a Georgia Associated Press Award for his serial coverage of the Five Points Rape Trial.
Shortly after graduation, he took over as Sports Director at WNEG-TV in Toccoa, Georgia. He served in this capacity for two years before coming to Augusta.
John lists his hobbies as golf, reading, movies, music and generally "relaxing with friends."
John is single and lives in Augusta, and while he says he enjoys covering all sports, he makes no mistake that there is something special to him about football season.
You can catch John's take on the sports world each weeknight at 6 and 11 on WJBF News Channel 6.
